The Relief Team of Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre – together with many community volunteers – promptly responded by providing meals, blankets and mattresses for many affected by the floods.
The Relief Team works closely with eThekwini Disaster Management and has provided relief in the form of meals and the supply of blankets to victims in Port St Johns, Claremont, Burlington, Chatsworth, Kwa Mashu, Molweni, Reservoir Hills and at Tehuis, Umlazi, for the moment. Ongoing relief work will continue in the days ahead.
Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre distributed large quantities of blankets to the following areas:
- Chatsworth - 50 blankets
- Kwamashu - 40 blankets
- Molweni - 50 Blankets
- Reservior Hills - 65 blankets
- Claremont - 200 blankets
- Queensburgh - 300 blankets
- Umlazi - 260 blankets
- Isipingo - 120 blankets
- Port St John's - 400 blankets
TOTAL = 1485
Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre distributed meals to the following areas:
- Reservior Hills - 192 hot meals for lunch
- Clermont - 200 breakfast
