Saudi Cabinet hopes Afghan meet ensures peace

JEDDAH – The Saudi Arabian Council of Ministers hoped that the Islamic Scholars’ Conference on Afghanistan, which began in Jeddah, would bring about positive outcome in restoring peace and stability in the war-torn country.

Minister of State, Member of Cabinet and Acting Minister of Media Dr Issam Bin Saad said the Cabinet session, chaired by King Salman, welcomed convening of the conference which is being attended by a large number of eminent Islamic scholars from Afghanistan as well as from various parts of the world.

The Cabinet noted that the conference discussed ways of contributing to the efforts of achieving peace and stability in Afghanistan, condemning terrorism and extremism in all their forms and manifestations.
