Rohingya Massacre – Our appeal !

1. Burma, now known as Mynamar, has a Buddhist majority of about 50 million people with a Muslim population of more than a million. Most Muslims live in the Rakhine state, referred to as Rohingya Muslims.

 2. The Rohingya Muslims are known to be the most persecuted minority in the world. Buddhist mobs have constantly terrorised them and many Muslims have been brutally killed, women raped, mosques, homes and businesses have been burned, with little intervention from authorities.Refugees are being killed, and even buried alive.

3. In August 2017, nearly 125,000 mostly Rohingya refugees have entered Bangladesh since a fresh upsurge of violence as fears grow of a humanitarian crisis in the overstretched camps.

4. Reports of massacres and the systematic torching of villages by security forces - as well as by militants - have further amplified tensions, raising fears that violence in Rakhine is spinning out of control.

Darul Ihsan condemns in the strongest possible terms this horrific oppression and massacre and calls for its cessation immediately. The Rohingya Muslims must be returned to their homes, whilst the perpetrators must be prosecuted for their human rights crimes against the oppressed people. In these difficult times, we implore the Ummah to :
• Intensify dua seeking Allah Ta’alas mercy and assistance for the oppressed
• Engage in abundant Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) and collective repentance
• Request Imams to recite Qunoot Nazilah in the Fajr Salah
• Write persistently to the local press and media by expounding on these injustices and human rights violations. Flood social media with messages of awareness and protestation.
• Write to the various Embassies and World bodies such as the UN, OIC, etc. strongly objecting to the atrocities
• Provide financial assistance by generously contributing to relief efforts
