I refer to the report on 'Exodus worse than thought'.
The number of skilled and professional people leaving our shores is of great concern. The country is heavily dependant on these people who contribute to all spheres of South African society in the hope of becoming a developed country. One must remember that the African continent looks upon South Africa as the leading nation.
Government needs to attend to this crisis immediately and seriously look into ways to minimize the effects of the 'brain drain'. The loss of even one skilled person should be seen as a national loss in terms of sponsorship and training gained via South African institutions.
Just as every cent in a poor man's pocket counts, every skilled person is worth gold.
