The Muslim Empowerment Fund (MEF) of Darul Ihsan Centre handed-over a newly constructed two-bedroomed dwelling to the Shange family in Mophela at Hammarsdale on Saturday, 12 August 2017.
In Darul Ihsan Centre’s ongoing 2017 winter campaign the ‘Relief Team’ of the Centre coordinated with Port Shepstone municipality officials and community members in an outreach to members of the Mhlombe rural community.
A fire incident on Friday, 28 July 2017 at an informal settlement in Ward 90 Isipingo destroyed many of the dwellings and consequently displaced many of its residents.
On Monday, 03 July 2017 Darul Ihsan Centre’s ‘Relief Team’ distributed 90 blankets to settlers affected by a fire which tore through an informal settlement in Kennedy Road on Sunday night.
The LCU is a dedicated activity of the Darul Ihsan Centre. Alhamdulillah, since its inception in 2009, the LCU has earned and made great strides in this field. The general Muslim community has shown much appreciation and has acknowledged the work undertaken to remove and collect Islamic literature from the units provided at Masjids and Musallahs.
On Saturday evening (27 May 2017) Darul Ihsan Centre received a call from Mr Zamani of the Ethekweni Disaster and Emergency Management Technical Task Team for the Centre to provide relief for families affected by a fire incident at the Dakota Informal Settlement in Ward 90, Isipingo.
Darul Ihsan Centre, in its continuing 2017 ‘Winter Warmth’ blanket relief drive – in conjunction with members of the Dundee Muslim Youth Committee (DMYC) – distributed 300 blankets to community residents of Craigeside, Sibongile and Dlamini Village in Dundee on Sunday, 21 May 2017.
