Many parents of learners at schools have difficulties in providing the basics for their children in terms of school uniforms, stationery requirements and especially payment of school fees.
This impacts even more harshly on those who can ill afford these requirements particularly if there is more than one school-going child from the household, parents who cannot make their ends meet, parents who are unemployed, single parents and especially parents who are indigent.
Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre – through its Welfare Department – has been providing deserving parents with assistance for their school-going children annually - for almost ten years - in the greater Durban area.
At the end of every school year Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre provides hundreds of stationery packs, financial assistance for school uniforms and the provision of school fees to almost one thousand deserving learners (up-to Grade 12) for their following year at school.
Every year more and more learners are supported and, Alhamdulillah, extended to as many as possible. Where provision for school learners might be facile for many parents it is requested that there should be mindfulness of the realities of many more parents who can ill-afford the same for their children.
As always, such assistance is only possible through the kind and continuing support of our Muslim community. We thank all our donors and sponsors for their unwavering support in making such community outreaches possible.
