On Tuesday, 30 July 2019 senior grade learners from the school distributed toiletries, canned food and clothing for women and men to the elderly at the home.
The Relief Team provided 150 hot-packed meals and bottled water to the elderly and staff members - turning the day into one of joy for all at the eKhanana Old Age Home.
Educators at the school support such programme to inculcate in learners respect, care and compassion for the elderly in our community.
The learners and elderly at the home look forward to this annual, heart-warming experience.
“It is initiatives like these that prepare our youth to serve humanity in all its diversity. The learners helped the care-givers to bring the elderly with impaired mobility to the dining hall. Serve meals and assisted with feeding the infirm. This exposure will ensure that our learners will become sharing and caring citizens remarked educator,” said Mrs Khan, an educator at the school.
These outreaches are made possible through the generous contributions and ongoing support of the Muslim community.
