Every year Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre – through its ’Sponsor-a-Blanket’ project - distributes thousands of blankets to needy communities throughout South Africa in a campaign to bring ‘warmth’ during winter.
In a recent blanket distribution outreach on Sunday, 26 May 2019 the Relief Team of Darul Ihsan - in conjunction with learners and educators from the Orient Islamic School - distributed blankets to 136 children at the KwaMakhuta Islamic Centre’s Madrasah.
‘Goodie Bags’ containing packets of potato crisps, biscuits and sweets were also handed to all the children at the Madrasah – bringing much excitement to them.
Parents also attended the blanket distribution event and they, together with Sheikh Abdul Latiff of the Madrasah, expressed their sincere appreciation at the distribution of blankets for the children particularly in view of low temperatures experienced in the area.
These outreaches are made possible through the generous contributions and ongoing support of the Muslim community.
