Blanket distribution at Sea Cow Lake Secondary

On Thursday, 16 May 2019 the Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre Outreach Team - in conjunction with high school learners and teachers from the Orient Islamic School - distributed 120 blankets to learners from Grade 8 to Grade 12 at the Sea Cow Lake Secondary School.

The blankets were sponsored by the learners, their parents and staff members of the Orient Islamic School. The Sea Cow Lake Secondary School has almost 800 learners and many come from informal settlements in the surrounding area, Sea Cow Lake and Kenville.

After the distribution, learners from the Orient Islamic School interacted with learners from Sea Cow Lake Secondary. Ms M L Mlembe, an educator at the school – in a short speech – thanked both the Orient Islamic School and Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre for the much needed blankets. Ms J M Ramawtar, the Principal and Mr S Khan - another educator at the school - expressed their sincere thanks to the donors for the kind gesture.

These and other outreaches of Darul Ihsan Humanitarian Centre are made possible through the generous contributions and ongoing support of the Muslim community.
