The ‘DAD’ team comprised Ulama member Maulana Zakaria Murchie, a drug and substance abuse researcher and Brother Abdul Saeed Shaikh, an on-field activist.
The Friday programme was directed to the community of the Isipingo localities and focused at learners of the Ihsan Boys School at Isipingo Beach.
In the Jumuah talk at the Isipingo Rail Masjid Maulana Murchie focused on the harsh realities of drug and substance in our society.
Later in the day a power point presentation on the harms of substance abuse was presented for the benefit of the mothers and sisters at the Isipingo Beach Girl’s Madrasah and a special programme was also conducted for high school boys at the Maktab in Isipingo Rail.
The main programme was held after Maghrib Salah at the Ispingo Hills Masjid Hall.
The hall was teeming with youth who embraced the interactive programme with a slide presentation, video clips, Q & A session and the dissemination of literature. There was much positive feedback and appreciation from the community for the DAD programme.
‘DAD’ thanks the Ulama and community members of the Isipingo localities for their hospitality and coordination of an initiative which is at the heart of many.
May Allah Ta’ala accept this humble effort, make it easy for those whose lives are affected by the incidence of drug and substance abuse and protect our families and the Ummah.
