Darul Ihsan Centre’s annual ‘Sponsor-a-Blanket’ campaign has delivered thousands of blankets nationally to the less privileged in some of the coldest places in the country. The project is driven by the ‘Muslim Empowerment Fund’ (MEF) of Darul Ihsan Centre. In the MEF’s most recent outreach for winter, blankets were distributed in Cape Town and Howick.

The Operation Sukuma Sakhe coordinator, Mr Sipoho Mthethwa, through the Ethekwini Municipality Mayor’s Office, extended an invitation to Darul Ihsan Centre to be a partner in hosting a ‘Senior Citizens Women in Dialogue’ event at Mpumalanga Township near Hammersdale, KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday, 28 May 2015.

Continuing with its education drive to enlighten Muslims on important social aspects, the Darul Ihsan Social Department held a marriage education course titled ‘Made In Heaven’ on 9 May 2015 in Pietermaritzburg. The programme encompassed a wide range of discussions pertaining to marriage.

On Saturday 02 May 2015 at 20:30 PM Darul Ihsan Centre received a call from Mr Malcolm Canham, senior manager at Ethekwini Disaster Management, informing the Centre about a fire disaster at the Mallacca Road informal settlement in Red Hill - and the need for some emergency relief.

Alhamdulillah, the ‘Daughters of the Ummah’ (‘D.O.U.’), an initiative of the Youth Department of Darul Ihsan Centre - which caters specifically in activities for our young sisters - hosted another successful activity day programme at the Bluff Eco Park on Wednesday, 08 April 2015.
