Darul Ihsan Centre provides food relief for displaced residents

A fire incident on Friday, 28 July 2017 at an informal settlement in Ward 90 Isipingo destroyed many of the dwellings and consequently displaced many of its residents.

The Ethekwini Disaster Management Team contacted Darul Ihsan Centre for some emergency food relief for the displaced.

By Saturday afternoon the Darul Ihsan Centre Relief Team - together with a volunteer group of sisters -distributed 130 hot packed meals to the displaced residents.

Mr Isaac Ngubane, a representative of the Ethekwini Disaster Management, and other Ward members present, expressed their gratitude to Darul Ihsan Centre for promptly providing the meals.

One of the displaced residents, Mr Sifiso Hadebe, personally thanked Brother Abdul Saeed Shaikh - Head of the Relief Team - for providing the food relief.

Darul Ihsan Centre serves on the Technical Task Team of Ethekwini Disaster Management and is available on call for any civil emergency for which it can assist.

The relief outreaches of the Centre are made possible through the generous contributions and ongoing support of the Muslim community.
