My Most Loving Allah Ta’ala

The Jalaal, i.e. the Majestic Grandeur of Allah Ta’ala can never ever be aptly and fully explained. One can try as much as one wish to, but the praises of the Most Magnificent One, can never be achieved. It is only He who can define Himself.

The Jalaal, i.e. the Majestic Grandeur of Allah Ta’ala can never ever be aptly and fully explained. One can try as much as one wish to, but the praises of the Most Magnificent One, can never be achieved. It is only He who can define Himself.

The description “Allahu Akbar” - “Allah is the Greatest” - has been reserved only for the Ummat of His most beloved, Nabi (Salallahu alaihi wa Sallam). No other grouping was ever awarded the powerful gift of this description.

In order for us to truly understand the Majesty and Grandeur of Allah Ta’ala, Surah Luqman boldly declares: “If all the trees on earth (were made) into pens and the ocean supplemented by the seven oceans (made into ink to write) then Allah’s words (i.e. His attributes, praises, favours, etc.) will never be exhausted. Verily Allah is the Mightiest and Most Wise.” (V. 27)

This is an unambiguous proclamation by Rabb-e-Jalaal. If all the trees of the entire world were transformed into pens and if all the oceans … and more … were turned into ink, and if every creation was to write the unique descriptions of “Allahu Akbar”, the pens will be exhausted and the “inkpot” will dry up … but that would not have described even a nano-atom of the Majestic Grandeur of Allah Ta’ala.

The description “Allahu Akbar” is exceptionally loaded in meaning. Inherent in the term is, Allah’s Greatness, Beauty, Exaltedness, Treasures, Noor, Perfection, Oneness, Kingdom, Majesty, Power and His every single Attribute.

Allah Ta’ala will also call upon some angels to try and capture His Jalaal … Majesty and Grandeur. But they too will become fatigued and surrender. Thereafter Allah Ta’ala will call upon the angels of higher ranking in the heavens. They too will declare their inability and throw in the towel. Consequently Allah Ta’ala will call upon the angels of the Arsh-e-Ilaahi - i.e. - The Throne of Allah. They too will become exhausted. Next Allah Ta’ala will order Jibra’eel, Israfeel, Mika’eel and Isra’eel (Alaihimus Salaam) - but they too will acknowledge defeat.

Pen-ultimately, our Rabb, Allah Ta’ala will beckon the Ambiya (Alaihimus Salaam) - all one hundred and twenty thousand of them - they too will confess to their restrictedness.

Ultimately, Allah Ta’ala will gently request our most beloved Nabi (Salallahu alaihi wa Sallam). For this mammoth task of defining the Majesty and Grandeur of Allah Ta’ala, his (Salallahu alaihi wa Sallam’s) pen too will “dry up”.

O Allah! The Greatest – “Allahu Akbar”
